I Samuel 16:7
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance of at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
As Author and Minister William Wood wrote in his inspiring book, “Every Day A Victory: Practical Weapons to Fight, Stand, and Live Free:”
God is looking at our heart in everything that we do. We may be able to fool man, but we cannot fool God. In fact, we can look reverent to God in the eyes of man while being irreverent to God by the condition of our heart. We must be aware of developing a life that appears reverent. Jesus is setting up this backdrop as He teaches on prayer.
……..In the eyes of God, the motivation of the heart is most important. Prayer is not about the attention of man but the attention of God.
