Stuffed and Starved

When I spoke to the Author of the incredible, eye-opening book, “Stuffed and Starved” Raj Patel, http://www.rajpatel.org, the horrors of GMO Corn and chemical-industrial mono-cropping, big-agricultural practices of toxic frankenstein-food and its by-products was beyond what most of us realize.

When our Congress passed NAFTA in 1994, it was sold via propaganda and outright false promises to us by agri-businesses [who lobby incessantly] that their ‘free trade’ agreement will benefit the Mexicans and other countries because the food will be better, cheaper, more accessible, etc.

Free Trade, in reality, was a disaster and a cultural and environmental nightmare for the country of Mexico.

The GMO corn completely eviscerated a whole culture and literally “ethnically cleansed” the indigenous farmers and culture of centuries old [and very healthy] farming and growing practices. This horrible “trade agreement” wiped out a whole nation and the GMO’s have contaminated the very home of ancient corn growing and the many varieties of corn were just vanished almost overnight.

The food of any culture is part of its Identity. And corn is a staple for Mexicans and most South Americans, so this was the ultimate “Racist” abuse by the chemical-agricultural-industrial complex with the aid of the lobbied, totally incompetent Congress and Senate who allowed this NAFTA agreement to be passed yet never examined or even understood.

There is a real epidemic of Farmer Suicide throughout the third world and even in the first world, including America. What is the real story behind this oppression of our food growers?

It is ALL from GMO crops, where you cannot save your own generational and ancient food seeds every year and grown in harmony with your environment without the pesticides, herbicides and toxic chemicals that are responsible for killing our pollinating bees, butterflies, birds, and other migrating animals we need for the unison of our natural balance.

This goes back to the historical abuses of “Colonialism” of the British Empire and other European Empires who exploited, pillaged, and enslaved native people and their cultures and food around the world.

We need community supported agriculture, and with the popularity of local Farmer’s Markets and great places to get organic, local produce and other goods like “Erewhon” you see that the CONSUMER does not want toxic, pesticide-laden, processed food.

But what does Congress do? They SUBSIDIZE THE BIG-AGRICULTURE/BIG-CHEMICAL industries with YOUR TAX DOLLARS! Look. LOOK. LOOOOOOk at the scandal here. They cannot NOT know that these industries are diabolical and are killing everything in its pathway, including people who say they cannot afford to buy non-subsidized ‘food.’

Again, this is the ultimate RACISM and also the ultimate Socio-economic disparity in this world.

Healthy Food can and will heal your body. But the wrong food sources will bring sickness, dis-ease, chronic illnesses and other expensive and life-altering downfalls.

Want to stop the crises of the Healthcare costs that are skyrocketing? Stop the Big-Agriculture, corporate farming that is nothing more than a scam on the Taxpayer since they are one of the biggest ‘corporate welfare’ recipients in this world. Stop this madness and the circle of death that is staring everyone in the face and is hiding in plain sight.

The Racists are the Congress people who pass these Colonial-era abuses along with the big-agriculture rogues who don’t care about you, your health, the purity of your future or your families.

And don’t be fooled by the “Fair Trade” symbols and promises. Raj Patel says this is a thin patch on an unsustainable system of food trade that has abused every culture and small farmer [including American farmers] on this Earth.

When will this stop?
